The Center for Nanotechnology Education (Nano-Link) provides resources and support to two and four year colleges as well as middle and high school institutions. Dakota County Technical College (DCTC) in Rosemont MN leads the Center.

A one-of-a-kind, Nanoscience Technician A.S. Degree offered at DCTC and supported by Nano-Link serves as a model to its Affiliates and Associate members. As an Affiliate of Nano-Link, educational institutions receive comprehensive educational content, guidance and support in working with industry and developing student outcomes and competencies. Nano-Link provides the mentorship required to develop multidisciplinary nanoscience programs at the Affiliate and Associate member schools/institutions.

Associates and Affiliates also participate in Nano-Link’s annual conference where best practices, industry input and insight, and student successes are shared.

Affiliate members contribute to Nano-Link’s online library of instructional modules designed to feature a hands-on, scientific inquiry focused, nanoscience concept activity. Through its Nano-Infusion Program, Nano-Link trains educators in the use of these modules including how to “infuse” them into traditional science, math and Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses at their school/college. The Nano-Infusion program has provided modules to over 580 educators and reached 70,000 students.

Nano-Link partners with communities, industry, schools and universities to provide unique educational experiences and activities that support nanoscience programs, and student recruitment and retention, with an emphasis on underrepresented groups.

This support and Nano-Link products and services are funded and provided through a National Science Foundation, Advanced Technological Education Program grant. Nano-Link proudly serves the ATE community with its unique charter to provide nanoscience education that grows a skilled nanoscience technician workforce and fosters economic growth for our nation.
